My friend and I were diving in Norfork and she picked up what looked like a roll of dynamite sticks that had not gone off .....she showed her husband and he gently put them down .....shook his finger with the "no-no" sign and we swam away and haven't dove there since...

I seem to be cursed with finding things that my friends have dropped. During a group dive I tend to stay at the back. Once I found a 2lb weight that fell out of one of our divers BC pockets.

This last trip to Cozumel, I found a towel laying the sand that fell off of our boat a few minutes earlier.

I'm soooo grossed out right now! Maybe I'm desensitized to diapers...but I have to say that feminin products are waaaaaaaay worse. Barf!

carp

my little story is NOTHING compared to what I've read in this thread -- bleh!

But in the spirit of the conversation I feel compelled to tell you about a recent dive at the Lake Mead....

We descended to about 70' and began a little sight-seeing. Around the first bend, on a bit of a ledge was the BIGGEST carp I have ever seen! It was HUGE! It was grey-white and appeared to be eating something off the bottom...as we got closer I could see a little better...no, it wasn't eating...but it almost looked like it was 'balancing' on its lips..."what IS that thing DOING?" I thought....a little closer and I got my answer...... "Decomposing".... THAT's what it was doing. yuck.

I found what seemed to me to be a nice blue 5# hard weight. When I got to the shore about 20 min later I found out there was an AOW class in progress and they were do a search for a blue 5# weight. I bet they never found it. Not, I gave it to a DM who was helping with the class.
